Thundercats

Saturday, September 5 |

Do you remember Saturday morning cartoons? I do and Thundercats was one of my favorites. I was got so excited to hear the intro and I would yell loudly at the TV, "thunder...Thunder...THUNDER...Thunder Cats HOOOOO! Entertain your inner child by watching an episode of Thunder Cats today.

Just a warning:

The video bellow can no longer be viewed with the same respect that once I had for this series. It may appear cheesy, weak and pointless to the average layman. Anybody seeing this series for the first time might have the following side effects: boredom, a rolling of the eyes, and a sudden urge to turn of your computer. These are all normal reactions but if you experience them just stop the video and consult with a friend to make sure there is not permenanet brain damage to your cognitive abilties.

Apologize

Saturday, August 15 |

Into every relationship a little rain must fall...even in animations. Teen Titans connects to my inner child and the song, "Apologize" speaks to my inner emo. Please enjoy.

Freedom For All

Friday, May 15 |

"I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free". I love that song and mean every word but I feel somewhat nervous saying that out loud. Americans are not always looked upon with respect. We are know for being obnoxious, inconsiderate, arrogant, ignorant... That not only saddens me but it scares me. America is not what it use to be, but that's probably a good thing. This is a great country that affords many opportunities to many different people, but we should change tolerance to acceptance.

Has America earned its bad reputation or are the nasty labels unjustified? What freedoms or justice are we still lacking?

Your A Mean One

Saturday, May 2 |

You'd assume that family are the people that you know you can count on. You know "blood is thicker than water" should always hold up. Sometimes that's not the case. When you spend time with certain family members their real colors show and it can be a disappointing or even a hurtful experience.

LazyKing, author of Bored...Get Unbored, submitted a post I titled Mean Uncle George. It is a story from his life about the friction he had with one of his uncles. A compelling tale that made me ask myself do I have to love everyone in my family. What if being around the brings a lot of negativity, do I still owe them phone calls and visits or do they have to earn the right to stay in my good graces. To read this post on Saturday Love and add you thoughts or experciences.

Do you have any bad eggs in your bunch? Is there a family member that just rubs you the wrong way? Or are you the one that seems ostracized from the family?

Football Cartoons

Saturday, April 25 |

Happy Draft day everyone! To be honest I'm not sure that I would even know about the draft if it wasn't for my husband, the ultimate sports fanatic/enthusiast. I used to watch football with hubby when we were just friends and loved every minute of it, but then we got married and times have changed. I can't sit more than five minutes through a game. I blame hubby. He will listen to sports radio, participate in an online sports forum, while watching a game and talking on the phone about the awesome catch/shot/pass/block…whatever. However hubby sees it different, he thinks I pulled the old bait and switch; pretending to be The Football Girlfriend until he married me than wham, now I ask him to turn the radio down and remind him not to yell so loud as I watch soap operas in a another room.

So today, to show hubby I love him. I will watch the draft today. It really is interesting, though I've only committed 2 hours he's very happy. He is looking forward to teaching me all the in and outs of the strategy, politics and stupid moves that apparently the Detroit Lions Have already made by draft an okay quarterback, wasting their first pick. So for all the football fans out there this post is for you.

Are you a sport fan, a lover of football? How important is it to have a partner that either has the same interest as you or is willing to participate in activities you love?

Cartoons on Saturday

Saturday, March 28 |

When I was a kid I use to wake up at 5am on Saturday because I couldn't wait for the cartoons to start. I loved them all: Gummy Bears, Ed Grimely, Mighty Mouse, Pac Man, Thunder Cats, Fragile Rock, Jem, Muppet Babies, Punky Brewster, A Pup Named Scooby Doo, Snorkels, and Inspector Gadget. I even love the commercials. I sang with conviction," I don't want to grow up" and I'm not sure why. Maybe I knew that I a kid's life was so care free. I did homework, a few dishes, but my main job was to enjoy my life.

Remember recess, pop rocks, hide and go seek, bike races and coloring. That was the good life. My life is good today, but sometimes a little hectic. So why not take a break from the harsh reality of mandatory overtime, CNN and the economic crisis to indulge in a little sense memory vacation. Sense memory is a powerful things; just sensing something about a certain period in your life can instantly take you back there. Yes I'm a grown up now, but I'm still a kid at heart. On LL&L Sat morning will be Cartoon Day. Who's with me? Today cartoon morning is titled Bugs Bunny Before and After. I don't like the look of a lot of videos on the new template so I will usually separate the videos and the post from now on. So follow the link Bugs Bunny Before and After and enjoy.
