meditation
It is so easy to meditate when you are staying in a cottage by yourself on vacation, but I have found it difficult to clear my mind at home. First the distractions are hard to tune out and my mind, that is use to constant stimulus, bombards me with constant thoughts. How can you focus on breathe when you are trying to figure if your mom is going to be okay, will Cinna miss home, what to get hubby for his b-day etc...
I just read an article titled Relaxation Meditation that talks about the basics of meditation. In it Buddha of Hollywood shares that while focusing on your breath in the lotus position is popular, he prefers lying on bed listening to an OM Chant.
If you interested in reading the full article you can find it on Buddha of Hollywood, which is ageat blog.
The article ends with these words
"This kind of meditation is not much of a spiritual journey but it is an essential step in preparing your mind to become that vehicle of exploration. You may choose to stay at this level and enjoy all the health benefits of meditation. Or you may choose to go further in your practice and step into the ocean of spirituality."

I'm not sure but I think I've seen only gone to the theater once this summer; I'd rather wait for them to come out on DVD. However Amazing Bunni has done it again by writing another top notch review for Inglorious Basterds. This post was Fantastic! The first time I read one of her reviews I realized that there was no need to write one of my own. She is a gifted writer with an obvious passion for films. Since I no longer have the reassurance of two thumbs to inspire my movie viewing I am grateful that I can count on her trustworthy opinions.
Even if you already heard Brad Pitt's apparently authentic accent and complained that the movie was too long, I'd still think that this a review worth reading. My advice is to visit Amusing Bunni's Musings regardless; with an infectious energy she shares her passion for the arts, or humorously rants about politics. No matter what topic she touches I've always enjoy her writing style. Amazing Bunni has a jazzy disposition and a sharp wit to match that can reveal those infamous Chicago winter winds. Please make no mistake, this girl has a lot big heart and once you make contact with her, through comment or a tweet, you will have gained an instant friend.
So what about the movie...The buzz before the release left me indifferent but with so many people going gaga I was convinced that I would, at the very least, enjoy it on DVD. Once again Amusing Bunni's review has me running to the theater...or at least driving to see Inglorious Basterds for myself.
"If your honest you can admit that revenge feels good. It's only natural to want to fight those hurt others but I've always hated the phrase fight fire with fire; don't most people use water..."
This is a small excerpt taken "Fight Fire With Water". Visit 3L's blog Mental Mondayto read the whole article or watch the video bellow encouraging viewers to take hold of freedom by letting go of anger and resentment.

love
What should you do when a loved one actions triggers hurt feelings? This is a question I've had to ask myself recently. Gambit, my husband, is an incredible man that sometime pushes my buttons. In relationships I usually focus on the positives and try to make adjustments when faced with problems, but sometimes that's not enough............Sometimes you have to share your hurt feelings or you will find yourself resenting the people you love.
When someone hurts you, you should tell them right away and forgive them when they take responsibility for their action and proclaim to make changes so that it will not happen again. Its harder to let things go when that when confronted, the person does not own up to any wrong doing but instead continues to press the same buttons. Without an apology and a promise of repentance I find myself reliving all the times when that person has hurt me; I will not be content until they apologize for each and ever offensive that they've committed against me...Yes I realize that this is the wrong way but I don't know another way to avoid being a doormat.
My marriage is one of the things I treasure the most and it motivates to be the best wife I can be. I realize that harboring old grudges will hurt me and the relationship with my husband. So to change my pattern I've decided to share what bothers me ASAP and talk until I know that I've forgiven completely. Unfortunately I'm new to this practice and I find myself still bringing up old issues in the process. Lucky Gambit has become my guinea pig, patiently enduring the trial and errors of my new communication and relationship style. Thank God for that man and for Flight of the Concords; they both keep me from getting too serious by making me laugh even when I've got...
Into every relationship a little rain must fall...even in animations. Teen Titans connects to my inner child and the song, "Apologize" speaks to my inner emo. Please enjoy.

3L promotes acceptance for everyone so I never had a problem with Nadya SulemanaKaOctoMom. Sure I questioned her motives and wondered about her means of supporting her children, but I believed that ultimately it was none of business. Besides, I am a lover of Reality TV, use to the concept of large families. One of my faves would have to be Jon and Kate Plus Eight. That was until the big announcement earlier this year, announcing their divorce. I took the news pretty personal.
I love fresh starts and was open to the possibility of watching Nadya and kids on their own show but the video bellow changed my mind. Maybe she was just sharing her opinion, but I wonder if the slight against Kate was just a dis for dollars. Hypocrisy, even a soft spoken soul, is ugly and useless.
Octomom is getting ready to move into a new house. The home is located in La Habra, California near where Nadya lives right now. It comes with 4 bedrooms, 2 and a half baths, a large master bedroom with a walk-in closet and a large backyard.
Why do I care about octomom? I don't know..............I generally want the best for everyone and I am a naturally curious and a little nosy. I hope that Nadya Suleman and her children thrive and prosper and that the media hype dies down long enough for lives to become normal.
A new study says that the way to fight of Alzheimer is by eating a Mediterranean diet, rich in fruits and vegetables. Again it proves that the American diet fails us all: fatty, sweet, and processed foods. Besides its so much fun to try new recipes. Watch the video below to learn more.
Lately Corey Feldman has not been in the presses because he was, to my surprise, making an appearance at the Michael Jackson Memorial, dressed in a famous Michael Jackson ensemble consisting of MJ’s famous military jacket, a black fedora, and dark sunglasses.
Many people may be ridiculing him for this elaborate get-up, but I feel that he was just doing it to pay homage to one of his close friends that made an impact on his life. Even though their friendship dwindled in the 80’s, it is obvious that it affected Corey greatly. This may have been expected from a Michael Jackson fanatic, but I do not believe this act was out of any type of craze, or obsession for MJ. He was just showing everyone that Michael Jackson meant a lot to him. When Corey decided to wear that outfit, I believe he was thinking: I am going to an event to celebrate a wonderful man, and I want to participate in the celebration in a deep, meaningful way.
Wearing one of his unique and memorable outfits is a beautiful way that Michael Jackson would’ve greatly appreciated because he was into fashion, and more importantly, into creating his own unique fashion. I saw it in no way mocking or gaudy. I thought it was heartfelt and genuine.
I also believe that he felt he needed to show his grief for Michael Jackson’s passing in a larger way because of how their relationship was. They became very close in the 80’s and eventually stopped talking, and hadn’t talked for years before his death. I have no personal reason to defend Corey Feldman. He's not one of my he hasn’t even been in a critically acclaimed movie in ten years, and so he success was before my time. To his credit he I really enjoyed Stand By Me.
I’m sure he was regretting not ever seeing how he was doing, or just hearing his voice recently before he was gone. It was completely unexpected for everyone, and affected his fans greatly, so we can only imagine how it would affect friends. Imagine if one of your good friends that you never got around to keeping in touch with suddenly passed away. You would fill crushed, remorseful, and hopeless. One of the few ways you could make up for it is to go to their funeral and participate in mourning them.
Michael Jackson was a unique person from his voice, to his lyrics, to his style. I believe that Michael would find it very flattering if he saw one of his friends dressed up in one of the many outfits people across the world found memorable when he wore it. I believe that too many people often look too deep into things like this. He wanted to wear something that represented a man that meant a lot to the world and to him. He wasn’t taking it over the top, in my opinion, because he wanted to go all out for him. Michael Jackson was a big symbol so why not show a big symbol of how much he cared about him, through one of the most expressive ways; fashion.
I have not been able to blog a lot lately so I was unaware of the craziness here on LLnL. My good friend LazyKing ,of Bored... Get Unbored, alerted me that my template had some serious issues. The lovely red couch and the sleek grey floor that I love, was replace with small photobucket images letting me know that band with was an issue.(like I know what band width is)
It's happen before, that template is so popular that at certain times too many people are using it and the person who uploaded the pictures has to purchase more bandwidth. For the tech literate I am so sorry if that does not make sense, baby steps. So instead of waiting for the problem to work itself out, or spending hours trying to recreate the template by adding in all the pictures myself by hand, which did not work as well as you'd think, I decided to through caution to the wind and change my template, I mean my templates. On the other blogs I had been toying with the idea of having all new templates. With 8 different blogs the eyes gets tired of seeing the same images, so why not find appropriate templates each blog. Why, because it takes a lot of time and it is hard to remain consistent, but I took it as a challenge.
So please check it out and tell me what you think. I did this all in one day so please forgive the kinks as I try to figure things out myself. I lost some comment too when I switched : ( but I know that attachment brings suffering; in others words I have to get over that and make sure that I set up LL&L encouraging everyone to comment freely. So please let me know what you like, dislike and any problems that you have.
What about my read couch. I do love it and it seems so appropriate for LLnL so it might come back to the home page. For now it is gone and all I have is the ..........
I love all kinds of music, and silly songs or no exception. A good parody can bring anyone to tears from laughter. I think that's why I love Adam Sandler so much. Billy Madison may not be a critically darling but every song and silly gag brings tears and laughter. You may think it's easy to make a funny song or parody because the professionals like Eddie Murphy or Wayne Brady make it look so easy. To pull off a goo rendition someone must connect with the new lyrics and sing like they mean it. One of the best music mockers, hands down, has to be Weird Al style of music, or mockery. I think that most people do not give enough created to the skill and talent it takes to pull off a good parody but I plan to change that.
LL&L has a new category called Music vs. Mockery. I will pit a song against its parody, or a song that I find similar. And it up to you to decide which song you like better. If you are a serious music fan might assume there could never be a worthy comparison to the beloved original, but you'd be surprised. Music vs. Mockery will include silly songs of all kinds so whether it's a kids songs or a funny ditty from the Flight of the Concords, it might wind up on LL&L: Music vs. Mockery… (Please imagine a man with bass in his voice saying Music vs. Mockery with a soft echo behind it, otherwise the name might sound…silly)
Freaky Friday has finally published. The last chapter of Losing My Virginity, LMV- part 7. It is about my decision to take a break from sex and attempt to get the boys to appreciate my personality and not my humps. So in honor of the new post watch the videos bellow and you decided which one you like better. One is seriously silly while the other is high drama... Please enjoy!
My humps Black Eyed Peas
Alanis Morissette "My Humps" video
Please don't forget to leave a comment. Who's hump did you like better Fergies' or Alanis'.

LLnL
"It's been a long time; I shouldn't left you...without a dope beat to step to."
I'm sorry that I have not updated LL&L in so long. I'm trying to convince people that I am a blog addict but nobody will believe me because of my long blogging absences. To that I respond "life happens". If I had my way I would be pretty much glued to the computer or any relevant for book for most of the day. I'd read and write for 14 hours a day leaving me enough time for shower, sleep, sex and exercise (maybe a meal here and there). I'm sure that sounds like a lonely and boring life to you, but it is a dream for me. I have all these thoughts and feelings that I've wanted to share for a couple of decades now so I am more than anxious to express myself. That's why I make a commit to spend at least 10 hours a day working on my blog and then...
...Then life happens. My husband misses me, our kid is sick; I need to take care of paper work... You know the day to day things that happen sprinkled with a few personal crises here and there. The thing is blogging has become my job, my art, my baby... It is not something that I feel good about neglecting. However blogging is not my heart, my life or my family. Listing and ordering your personal priorities can become a pretty complicated process. At least it is for me.
Up until two years ago my life has been about me… and how I relate to people. I'm not a self centered person but I realize now that most of my actions affected only my life so making decisions and schedules was an easy task. Now I am a Gambit's wife and a guardian of Cinna. With only two years of marriage under my belt I feel naïve and ill prepared for a life has become really complicated. Big things are hard to deal with because I have not yet learned how to make decisions as a family. Small thing are starting to concern me because now I see now how buying a loaf of wheat bread affects my whole family. Now I try not to make promises and commitments because I want to make sure that my family is taken care of first.
So where does that leave LL&L, I don't know for sure...What I do know is that this blog has sparked a flame in me that has opened up my eyes and made me feel alive again. I have big plans for LL&L; in fact I've been taking the time to work on a business plan. It is a slow process for me because I am learning about business on my own and I have little business experience. The dork in me loves every minute of research. The faith in me is delighted and excited to see the future success. The kid in me is scared out of her mind and wants to find a safe place to hide from the world until someone else can fix all of my problems. I'm not sure if that makes me weird or if most people can relate to this on some level. Either way this is me and LL&L share it all.
Long story short...LL&L is back and I want to provide all of my visitors with lots of interesting, helpful and fun content..., but it will take some time to fix the kinks to make sure that I am at my best and consistent. To all of my loyal readers Thank You So Much. Your support means the world to me.
Life can be hard with surprises waiting around every corner. You will get through it, so don't forget to breathe...just breathe.
If feel like it please sing along. Change the words so that it fits you. I sing for fun and for a great release. It helps you to take in the concepts of the lyrics.
If you are planning on or are already taking a language class take try the One Semester of Spanish - Love Song approach and make learning fun. No I'm not bilingual; I'm barely fluent in English but I do know how to study. So I thought I'd share a few tips that will help you ace your exams and become fluent in a new language:
Read ahead- Prepare for class by staying ahead of the lesson plan. Read and practice pronunciation for each corresponding lesson just before class.
Find a study buddy- Form a study group or find a study partner to help you practice dialogue and to quiz each other.
Figure out Your Motivation- Ask yourself why you want to learn a new language?Having a good motivation will help you to work hard.
Learn One Concept At A Time- Make sure you learn each concept thoroughly before moving on to the next one.
Supplement Your Textbook- If you had trouble with a concept go to the library and get a books, CD, or DVD to help with your studies.
Expose yourself to the language as much as possible- Watch movies, read books go and visit places where there are native speakers.
To entire article, Tips for Your Language Class, can be found on TCB Thursday. There you can see the 2nd Semester of Spanish, Spanish Love Song starring Erik Estrada.
Sometimes "Saying I love you" is not enough. In the book The Five Love Languages Gary Chapman articulated how people give and receive love. The book is a helpful and interesting resource. The five languages are easy to figure out:
It is important to remember that this love language is different for everyone. What type of touch makes you feel secure is not necessarily what will make your partner happy. It is important to learn each other’s dialects. That way you can make the most of your hugging, kissing, and other physical contacts.
"Anyone who has kids understands that it takes a lot of skill and a little finesse to get your kids to eat their veggies. Most kids would prefer to dine on a strict diet of sugary and processed goodness. Pleading seems in vain because they tune out when you say, "Please eat your vegetables. They're good for you." Lucky for me I had a mom who did not force food; instead she offered huge portions of veggies her kids liked and tried to sneak..."
I don't have tots but I do have a teenager and a husband that are not keen on most veggies. I purchased Deceptively Delicious and enjoyed the delicious recipes that are appealing kids and adults a like. Just remember to always show visible veggies and fruit at each meal to get kids use to eating veggies voluntarily. If they refuse to eat the veggies no worries, they will be getting the vitamins from the hidden veggies in the main entree.
Kids can learn to love their vegetable, just get creative.
Maybe your workout routine is great and your in great shape; what about your kids? Kids today move a lot less then they use and it takes a toll on their bodies. Avoid future health problems by making working out a family activity. Kids love playing so get creative and incorporate recess all year long:
* Rollerblade or riding bikes together instead of driving for short distances. * Take turns or walk the dog together two to three times a day. * Limit time spent watching TV, on the computer or playing video games * Create a chore list that includes yardwork and other housework. * Family exercise: go to local park, play sports, dance together for 1/2 hour. * Keep kids hydration by having them drink water before and during exercise. * Play games like tag and follow the leader. I dare you to watch this video and follow along
Okay I'm so sorry that I did that to you. I just want to get in touch with your inner child and so that you are will enjoy exercising with your kids.

meditation
Busy weekend, but a great one. So my writing routine is off again but I trying to get back on track by starting with Meditation Monday. I will post again soon but enjoy the videos I post I the mean time.
Let there be sound, and it is was good. I have had ongoing computer problems for months now. I was hoping of the best but months with no sound left me a little defeated and wondering if my machine would ever pull through. When I finally concluded that old Bessie needed to be put down my hubby said with confidence that he would fix it. So we bought a new hard drive and updated our driver and now my computer is as good as new.
I gave a lot of credit to my husband. My husband was proud of me for learning quickly and helping him, but we both give credit to our Higher Power for Bessie is definitely blessed. Today Bessie was born again and I give praises to Him who answers prayer. Please don't think that I am mocking, my tone is sincere. Try to work with a computer that was barely functioning and worrying that it would not pull though, that a lot of money would go to replacing it was a burden. Now I can say a grateful HALLELUJAH.
